Seneca County Child Support Enforcement Agency |
The purpose of the Child Support Program is to provide children with the opportunity for a better life. By working with both parents to establish and enforce support orders, the child support program helps children receive the financial and medical support they deserve. The program helps families work toward becoming and remaining self sufficient. The Ohio Child Support Program touches more children than any other program in Ohio, except education. |
The Child Support Program is a joint effort involving federal, state and local agencies administered in Ohio by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), Office of Child Support (OCS). The program provides a variety of services ranging from paternity establishment to enforcement of financial and medical obligations. |
The program is administered by the county child support enforcement agencies (CSEAs). In some counties, the CSEA is part of the County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS). The ODJFS oversees the operations and acts as an advisor to counties on policy and technical issues. All payments pass through the Child Support Payment Central (CSPC), Ohio's centralized collection and disbursement unit. This includes cases for individuals on public assistance, as well as those who are not, even if services were not requested. |
